3 Your opinions needed on offshore printing demand
Printing Industries is urgently seeking member views on local print tenders that contain offshore printing requirements. The association has seen a request for proposals by the National Australia Bank (NAB) which states that offshore supply is considered critical to the long-term reduction of the NAB's print costs.
In the medium term, the NAB believes that some 20-50 per cent of its print requirements could be sourced offshore.
Printing Industries CEO, Philip Andersen, said industry feedback on this and any examples of similar tenders was extremely important. "While the commercial decisions of organisations is their business, tender conditions like these, particularly where the bank has many major Australian printing industry clients, must be questioned," he said.
Printing Industries needs your views or information on similar tenders. These can be sent by e-mail to hagop@printnet.com.au or faxed on (02) 8789 7387.
